We make death less lonely – and life more alive.

Minnesverket's idea is based on humanity and openness around the questions about life and death that we all have to face at some point. We want every person to feel safe and treated respectfully based on their situation, needs and wishes.

As a holistic funeral home, we combine the practical with the emotional and existential - before, during and after death. Our funeral packages provide a clear and relieving basis, but each farewell is shaped personally based on the place, feeling and expression you desire.

Through death doulas, existential conversations, grief support and creative gatherings, our care continues even after the ceremony. We create spaces for community, real meetings and what needs to take place.

Team

We are funeral advisors, officiants, lawyers, death doulas, musicians, florists, writers and creative leaders with a common focus: to create safety, quality and human warmth.

The memorial is led by Jeanna Bäck Giray and Julia Björkeheim, with long experience in creative leadership, human encounters and both driven by developing new contexts and ways of facing death and life.

We start from your wishes for place, ceremony and feeling - regardless of whether the farewell should be bright, festive, traditional, quiet or something completely different.

Yes, a civil funeral ceremony can be held outdoors, for example in a garden, by the sea or in another place of personal significance. We help you investigate the possibilities and plan based on location, condition, weather and practical conditions.

Yes. You can write down your wishes for ceremony, music, flowers, burial and other personal choices. You can save them yourself, share them with your relatives or have the Swedish National Archives keep them for the future.

A bereavement doula provides practical, emotional and existential support to the dying person and their loved ones during the last period of life. The doula can be present at home, in a hospital or hospice and contribute with presence, conversation and guidance.

The cost depends on the type of funeral and which services you choose. The Memorial's funeral package starts from SEK 12,295. Our prices are open and each option is clearly stated.

Yes, a coffin is needed for transport, cremation and burial, even if you choose not to have a funeral ceremony. It enables safe, dignified and considerate handling of the deceased. However, the coffin does not have to be a visible part of the farewell. In a direct cremation, a simple casket can be used without a ceremony, and the family can instead choose to gather later or hold a ceremony with an urn.

No, not always. The need for an urn depends on how the ashes are to be buried. For example, in the case of a memorial grove or scattering of ashes, a permanent urn may be unnecessary. The memorial service offers handmade ceremony urns that can be rented for the farewell.

It is possible to make more careful choices through, for example, seasonal flowers, natural materials, reusable ceremony urns and well-thought-out transport. We help you choose what suits the farewell and tell you openly about what options are available.
